What is Dry Brushing?

Dr. Richards | January 2025

The lymphatic system is an amazing part of our circulatory system that plays a key role in maintaining our immune function and helping to filter out waste products and infections from around the body. Interestingly, lymphatic vessels do not have a built in pump system and require exercise or massage to stimulate ideal lymph movement.

Dry brushing is one technique to stimulate the movement of lymph and promote clearance of waste products and fluid accumulation in the body. By promoting blood flow throughout our body, dry brushing can help to distribute vital nutrients and oxygen to our cells while helping to clear out unwanted toxins. It also has an added benefit for our skin health by providing gentle exfoliation and encouraging natural cell turnover.

This can be a great technique for health maintenance for the whole family and can also be beneficial to use during acute illness. If you would like more information about dry brushing and instructions for use, please bring it up to your doctor at your next appointment!
