Dr. Jessica Kooima
Dr Kooima earned her Doctorate degree from Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine and is licensed in the state of Arizona Naturopathic Physicians Medical Board, and registered in Minnesota. She was the recipient of the esteemed “Daphne Blayden Award” for her, “commitment to naturopathic medicine, academic excellence, compassion, perseverance, loving sense of humor, and a positive, supportive outlook.“ Prior to that, she graduated from Dordt College with a Bachelor of Arts in Individualized Studies and St. Luke’s School of Nursing with a Diploma in Registered Nursing.
Dr. Kooima is dedicated to her profession and her patients and has been involved in the medical field for over twenty years. During that time she has worked in a variety of roles in a rural hospital setting, which included acute care, labor and delivery, skilled care, emergency medicine, cardiac rehab, and breastfeeding educator. She also has worked in a busy emergency department and taught the Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course. She has a genuine passion for people and desires for people to be able to live life to the fullest, with full health and vitality!
Dr. Kooima’s practice engages those of all ages, and a wide variety of conditions ranging from chronic and acute illness, autoimmune conditions, body detoxification, special needs, food/environmental allergies, gastrointestinal health, stress management, thyroid issues, skin rejuvenation, healthy ageing, anxiety and depression.
Dr. Kooima is an integrative practitioner who draws from natural and conventional medicine to provide her patients with the best options available. She takes into account her own experience in medicine and healthy living with her approach to patient care and focuses on comprehensive naturopathic medicine and individualized care. She is a member of the AANP, AZNMA, and EndoANP. She continues to advance her education and knowledge base by attending many conferences throughout the year, including MAPS (Medical Academy of Pediatric Special Needs). She utilizes a wide variety of treatment modalities including; diet and lifestyle counselling, clinical nutrition, acupuncture, botanical/herbal medicine, homeopathy, nutritional IV's, injectable therapies and prescription medications when indicated.
